Using Kanban boards in Bundled Notes

Kanban boards are a bundle-level option that turns selected tags into columns. They are ideal for project or collection-style bundles with clear phases, such as Planned, Doing, and Done, or Want to buy and Bought.

Before you enable Kanban mode

Set up the tags you want to use as columns first. In most cases, that means creating status tags such as Planning, In progress, and Done.

How to set up Kanban boards

  1. Open the bundle you want to turn into a board.

  2. Click theBundle menu and open Kanban boards.

  3. Enable Kanban mode.

  4. Choose which tags should appear as columns.

  5. Click Reorder columns to choose the order of the columns.

  6. Optionally, rename the automatic Backlog column.

  7. Optionally, show or hide the All column if you want a quick overview of every entry in the bundle (handy on mobile devices where you can only see a page at a time).

Because Kanban mode is tag based, any entries that don't have one of the column tags will sit in an automatic "Backlog" column. You can rename this column to something that fits your workflow, for example "Ideas" or "Inbox".

Tips

Kanban mode is non-destructive, meaning it doesn't change the underlying structure of your bundle. It simply organises the tagged entries into columns - so you can safely turn it on and off without affecting your content.

Here are a few ideas for column tags to get you started:

  1. To do, Doing, Done for personal tasks.

  2. Inbox, Planned, Drafting, Published for content work.

  3. Want to buy, Bought for shopping or hobby collections.
