Creating your first bundle
Bundles are a bit like folders, or notebooks: a space to organise related notes, tasks or content. To get started, you have to create one.
Bundles can be made for anything: a project, a to-do list, a movie collection, bookmarks, or simply for storing random notes. As you start using the app, you'll discover new ways to use them.
But let's say, for example, you want to keep a simple list of recipes.
Let's make a Recipes Bundle.
The steps
On the Home Screen, click the "+ Create bundle" button.
Choose a name for your bundle. In this case, "Recipes".
Pick the list template. Don't worry too much about this for now, templates only change the default settings of a bundle.
Save the bundle!
It's that easy. You now have a bundle dedicated to tracking your recipes.
What if I don't want a specific bundle, and want to get straight to taking random notes?
Organising your content into bundles is key to making the most of the app, but some things aren't easily categorised. There's an easy way to handle this! Simply create a bundle called "General Notes" or "Random", and use it as a space to store everything that doesn't fall into a specific bucket.
You can also create a Home Screen shortcut to easily jump straight into this bundle, if it's what you use most of the time.
Adding your first entry (i.e. recipe, or note)
Once you have made your first bundle, open it, then click the "New note" button in the bottom right. Use the title field for the name of the recipe, and enter the recipe in the body.
Alternatively, you can paste a link to a recipe into the body content, and your note will automatically be turned into a rich link preview.
What's an entry?
In these guides, you'll notice that I refer to notes as "entries". An entry is simply any piece of content inside a bundle - be it a note, a task, a bookmark, a file/photo, or anything else.
In a recipe bundle, entries are recipes; in a book bundle, entries are books; in a task bundle, entries are tasks, and so on.
Tagging
Tags are key to organising content in a bundle. In this recipe bundle, you might want to create tags like Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Dessert.
When you're editing a note, simply click on a tag to enable it.
There you have it! You've made your first bundle, and added your first piece of content to it.
If you want to start jotting down basic notes, I recommend creating an Assorted/Random bundle now - it's a nice place to start while you work out how to make the most of bundles.
